City of Portland & Multnomah County

The City of Portland and Multnomah County use a combined tax return form. This form is also used for certain City of Portland program fees and surcharges such as Residential Rental Registration fee and Clean Energy Surcharge.
Multnomah County: if you operated a business within Multnomah County, you are required to file a Personal Property Tax Return every year. Learn more here. The filing requirement applies to food cart owners as well.
If you qualify for an exemption, you must still file your business tax return to request an exemption each year.

For self-employed small business owners, if you need more time to file your personal income tax, remember to submit a tax extension. An extension gives you more time to file your return, but any taxes owed are still due by April 15. Underpayment may result in interest or penalties. Plan accordingly.
