Portland’s summer is in full swing! Whether you’re out enjoying the city as an eventgoer or gearing up as a business owner to make the most of the season, check out the list below to see what’s happening around town. It’s a great time to shop local—or prepare special promotions to welcome the crowd.

  • Mississippi Street Fair on Saturday, July 12: North Mississippi Avenue closes down for a day of food, vendors, music, and fun at Portland’s largest street fair.

  • Parkrose Summer Nights on Wednesday, July 16: Join the Parkrose neighborhood for Summer Nights featuring an evening night market, live music, dancing, and family-friendly activities, hosted by Historic Parkrose.

  • Cathedral Park Jazz Festival from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20: The Jazz Society’s Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is a free concert open to the public and held over three days at Cathedral Park at the base of the St. Johns Bridge in the Cathedral Park neighborhood of Portland. With nearly four decades of history, the festival is the longest-running jazz and blues festival west of the Mississippi River.

  • Portland Pride Festival and Parade from Saturday, July 19 to Sunday, July 20th: Portland Pride normally includes a weekend festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and an epic, joyous parade winding through downtown Portland. With live music, food, drinks, information booths, and other vendors, the festival is a great place to gather, mingle, celebrate gay pride and get more information about local LGBTQIA+ groups.

  • Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout July from noon to 1 pm: Enjoy music from some of Portland’s best regional and local musical talent. With seven FREE concerts, dancing, and some of Portland’s favorite food vendors at Carts on the Square, the Square is sure to be Downtown’s summer lunchtime destination.

  • Best of Brooklyn BBQ on Thursday, July 24: All are welcome to enjoy great food, music and “shop local” in the historic Brooklyn neighborhood. Live music and entertainment for the whole family will be on display. The wide variety of Brooklyn based businesses will be out in full force for you to explore. Enjoy a fantastic summer evening in the relaxed and family friendly Brooklyn Park!

  • World Naked Bike Ride on Saturday, July 26: Every summer, thousands of cyclists cruise through Portland streets as part of the World Naked Bike Ride. This year the starting point will be at Grant Park. Expect a vibrant, welcoming environment filled with all kinds of people moving together under human power.

  • Project Pabst from Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, July 27: Project Pabst, held at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, is a two-day, two-stage festival featuring some of the best acts in live music. The event will be an outdoor blowout with access to both stages, food, beverages and more.

  • East Portland Sunday Parkways on Sunday, July 27: Portland Sunday Parkways, Presented by Kaiser Permanente, will return to East Portland. The East Portland route is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate open streets in a community, family-friendly setting.

  • Montavilla Street Fair on Sunday, July 27: Montavilla Street Fair will bring 120+ local arts, crafts, food and retail vendors, community organizations, live music and family activities to Historic Downtown Montavilla.

  • Sunday Cartways on Sundays through August: Discover something new at Sunday Cartways at Director Park, a vibrant, open-air market popping up weekly in the heart of Downtown Portland.

  • Last Thursday on Alberta on Thursday, July 31: Last Thursday on Alberta Street in Portland, Oregon happens 12 months a year every last Thursday of the month indoors with art gallery opening parties, live music, DJs and other indoor performances at venues, bars and event spaces.
