Celebrating Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month

This Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month, we are proud to spotlight two of our partners, Hacienda CDC and the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, along with some of the incredible businesses they support. With deep roots in the community, both organizations have long championed Hispanic-owned businesses. As part of Prosper Portland’s Inclusive Business Resource Network, they provide business advising and connection to other resources to help local entrepreneurs grow and thrive.

🌮 El Jarrito Taqueria (2810 NE Glisan Street, Portland, OR 97212) 
With support from Hacienda CDC, owner Julian recently opened El Jarrito Taqueria in Portland’s Kerns neighborhood. After months of planning and preparation, his food cart is now serving up authentic flavors and building community one taco at a time. 

🍴 Los Comales Mexican Restaurant (12920 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233) 
After working with Hacienda advisors since 2023, Los Comales opened its doors this past June. The journey took time, dedication, and many thoughtful conversations about the best path forward weighing options such as farmer’s markets, subleasing, catering, etc. With support from both Hacienda CDC and Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, their vision became reality. Today, Los Comales serves delicious Mexican favorites, including their signature rotisserie chicken seasoned with their specialty blend. 

💬 Voz Language Solutions LLC 
After nearly two decades in corporate leadership, Luz discovered her calling as a medical interpreter and launched Voz Language Solutions to provide culturally competent, high-quality interpretation across healthcare, government, education, and nonprofit sectors. Founded on the belief of “serving all voices through equity in every word,” Voz has partnered with Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber since 2024, receiving support around business strategy and procurement guidance to help the business grow. 

🏠 NW Cardinals GC LLC 
A family-owned company specializing in residential remodeling, siding, and window solutions, NW Cardinals GC is transforming homes throughout Portland metro area. Throughout the engagement with Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, the business has received support navigating business registration, compliance and got connected to programs such as bookkeeping support from Livelihood NW. 

We are grateful to work alongside partners, such as Hacienda CDC and the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, to uplift Hispanic/Latine-owned businesses that enrich our neighborhoods, strengthen our economy, and sustain the vibrancy of Portland.
